Prevention Workgroup
The Missouri Cancer Consortium’s Prevention Workgroup brings together partners across the state to reduce cancer risk through education, collaboration, and evidence-based strategies aligned with the Missouri Cancer Action Plan. Our work promotes cancer prevention through vaccination, tobacco avoidance and cessation, reduced exposure to radon and other environmental carcinogens, healthy eating, physical activity, healthy weight, sun protection, and limiting alcohol use, with an emphasis on equitable access to prevention resources. We coordinate with the HPV, Radon, and Tobacco Cessation Task Forces, each of which is participating in specific, focused projects that advance shared prevention goals. Together, we connect expertise, share resources, and support coordinated action to reduce the burden of preventable cancers across Missouri.
